The Shuttle Alpha MK IV is 2nd Dynasty’s redesigned version of its classic modular tabletop spacecraft. It retains the compact size and complete playable interior that made the Shuttle Alpha popular while introducing a new nose, fixed engines, integrated weapon hardpoints, opening landing-gear bays, and a sharper, more heavily detailed exterior.

At approximately 12.7 inches long in full 28mm scale, the MK IV can serve as a military dropship, cargo shuttle, patrol vessel, personal starship, exploration craft, or complete tabletop encounter location.

Remove the upper hull and move play directly inside the spacecraft. The modular OpenLOCK interior uses a one-inch grid and can accommodate approximately 25mm, 28mm, and 32mm miniatures.

A Complete Tabletop Spacecraft

The Shuttle Alpha MK IV is detailed inside and out and designed specifically for tabletop play.

Interior Layout

The standard MK IV interior is divided into three principal areas.

• Cockpit: Pilot and copilot stations with two additional passenger seats.
• Cabin: A sealed living compartment containing a double bunk, WC, and compact kitchenette for extended missions.
• Cargo Bay: A rear mission and cargo section connected to the articulated loading ramp.

Because the interior is assembled from OpenLOCK-compatible tiles, the layout can be adapted by experienced hobbyists using other compatible 2nd Dynasty interior pieces.

The standard interior includes cockpit, cabin, and cargo areas.

• Dorsal Ring / AWACS Variant: Adds a dorsal mounting ring with interchangeable AWACS sensor dish and point-defense turret components.
• Missile Pod Variant: Adds externally mounted missile pods for a more heavily armed military configuration.
• Tail Fin Variant: Adds MK III-style vertical stabilizers to the rear engine section.
• Side Stair Variant: Adds a folding port-side staircase providing direct access to the cabin behind the cockpit.
• Extended Hull / Bus Variant: Adds one standard two-inch cabin extension, increasing passenger, living, or mission space.
• Fixed Wing Variant: Adds fixed atmospheric wings and an alternate forward profile.
• Cargo Variant: Adds dedicated cargo modules and fittings for a transport-focused rear bay.
• VTOL Side-Mount Variant: Adds side-mounted vertical-lift engine assemblies for dedicated VTOL operations.

The standard options represent individual complete configurations. Several upgrades can technically be combined, but combined builds, repeated hull extensions, or other custom arrangements require prior approval and separate pricing.

The articulated ramp and opening landing-gear bays support both display and tabletop use.

Miniatures, paint, tools, scenery, batteries, lighting components, wiring, and glue are not included. Filament color may vary from the examples shown because the model is intended to be prepared and painted by the purchaser.

The design includes provisions for optional lighting, but electronics, installation, and electrical work are not included with the standard physical model.

Printing and Production

This model is custom printed to order in PLA plastic using licensed 2nd Dynasty design files. Components are printed slowly at approximately 0.12mm layer height to produce a detailed and durable gaming model.

The Shuttle Alpha MK IV is a complex project containing many individual components. Please allow approximately 2–4 weeks for printing, inspection, packing, and shipment. Production time may vary according to the selected configuration and the current printing queue.

Important Information About 3D-Printed Models

Layer lines, support-contact marks, minor surface texture, and small cosmetic variations are normal characteristics of FDM 3D printing and are not defects. Some preparation may be required before assembly and painting.

PLA models should be stored indoors and protected from excessive heat and prolonged direct sunlight. This product contains small components and is intended for hobbyists age 14 and older.
