A massive three-foot-long, three-deck modular cargo starship with a complete playable interior and enough room to carry vehicles, equipment, passengers, and an entire science-fiction adventure.

The Starship Chimera is 2nd Dynasty’s original flagship modular spacecraft, custom printed at full 28mm scale for tabletop roleplaying games, skirmish games, wargames, and display.

Designed as a heavy cargo hauler, the Chimera devotes approximately one-third of its internal volume to a cavernous central cargo bay. It can transport supplies to remote colonies, deploy tactical vehicles into hostile territory, recover alien artifacts, support an expedition, or serve as a complete mobile base for an adventuring crew.

At approximately three feet long, the Chimera is not simply a model placed beside the gaming table. It becomes the gaming table.

The standard Chimera is approximately three feet long and contains three playable decks.

Standard Interior

The standard Chimera interior is divided into three levels, each of which can be removed or exposed for tabletop play.

Deck One

The lower deck contains much of the ship’s working infrastructure, including avionics, computer systems, engineering spaces, machinery, and the lower portion of the main cargo complex.

Deck Two

The principal operating deck contains the bridge, tactical and situation areas, galley, internal passageways, and additional cargo access.

Deck Three

The upper level provides crew living space, access to maintenance areas, and crawlspaces above the principal compartments.

Because the interior uses modular OpenLOCK-compatible construction, experienced hobbyists can rearrange rooms or incorporate compatible 2nd Dynasty and third-party interior tiles.

The standard deck plan includes bridge, tactical, habitation, galley, cargo, engineering, avionics, computer, and maintenance spaces.

The Cargo Bay

The heart of the standard Chimera is its enormous cargo bay. It can hold freight, supply pallets, small ground vehicles, exploration equipment, mission modules, temporary accommodation, or even compact aerospace craft, depending upon the purchaser’s collection and interior arrangement.

The open central volume also makes the Chimera an excellent setting for boarding actions, cargo inspections, smuggling operations, hostage rescues, shipboard firefights, maintenance disasters, and encounters involving whatever should not have been brought aboard.

The removable decks and hull sections provide direct access throughout the ship.

The large cargo bay can accommodate vehicles, supplies, equipment, and encounter scenery.

Optional Chimera Upgrades

The standard ship is complete without any optional additions. The following upgrades may be selected above to alter its equipment, access, weapons, or interior.

• Manoeuvrability Pack: Replaces selected smooth hull components with versions incorporating visible manoeuvring and reaction-control thrusters.
• Airlock Expansion: Adds official Chimera-compatible airlock components for expanded docking and access arrangements.
• Rear Airlock: Adds the official aft airlock upgrade for compatible rear hull arrangements.
• Turret Ports: Adds official dorsal, ventral, or side weapon-port components at compatible locations.
• Landing Gear Kit: Adds the official landing-gear components for surface operations and display.
• PE-6 Escape Pod Set: Adds Chimera-compatible emergency escape pods and associated mounting components.
• Side Weapon Variants: Adds alternate official weapon components for compatible side mounts.
• Additional Crew Quarters: Adds extra habitation tiles and furnishings for a more crew-focused interior arrangement.

Some upgrades replace the same hull or interior components and may not be mutually compatible. Canvas Temple will contact the purchaser before production if a selected combination requires clarification or cannot be constructed exactly as ordered.

Major Custom Configurations

The Chimera platform also supports major official conversions, including the Plus Expansion, Skinny configuration, Flat Top, Raised Bridge, Angled Underside, Side Engines, VTOL Engines, Conning Tower, Hull Extenders, and Sandcrawler conversion.

These modifications can substantially alter the ship’s dimensions, internal arrangement, print time, material consumption, and shipping requirements. They are available only by prior arrangement and custom quotation.

Pathfinder, Pegasus, Cerberus, Ataphoi, and Odyssey are sold as separate complete starships rather than as options on this listing.

Chimera Plus

A major expansion adding substantial hull volume, interior space, and more than sixty unique components.

Skinny Configuration

Rebuilds the Chimera around a narrower central hull using a substantial set of replacement tiles.

Flat Top

Replaces portions of the upper hull to create a flatter and more utilitarian exterior profile.

Raised Bridge

Elevates the command section above the standard hull for a more prominent bridge arrangement.

Angled Underside

Replaces lower hull sections with an angled ventral profile and altered underside geometry.

Side Engines

Relocates or supplements the propulsion system with externally mounted side-engine assemblies.

VTOL Engines

Adds vertical-lift propulsion components for a dedicated surface-landing or heavy-lift configuration.

Conning Tower Bridge

Adds a tall, externally prominent command tower compatible with selected Chimera arrangements.

Hull Extenders

The Pathfinder, Pegasus, Cerberus, Ghost Ship Ataphoi, and Odyssey are complete starships with their own hulls, interiors, instructions, and product listings. They are not included among the standard Chimera conversion options.

Printing and Production

This model is custom printed to order in PLA plastic using licensed 2nd Dynasty design files. Components are printed slowly at approximately 0.12mm layer height to produce a detailed and durable tabletop model.

The standard Chimera is an exceptionally large project containing hundreds of components and three complete interior decks. Please allow approximately 6–10 weeks for printing, inspection, organization, packing, and shipment. Production time may vary according to selected upgrades and the current printing queue.

Important Information About 3D-Printed Models

Layer lines, support-contact marks, minor surface texture, and small cosmetic variations are normal characteristics of FDM 3D printing and are not defects. Some preparation may be required before assembly and painting.

PLA models should be stored indoors and protected from excessive heat and prolonged direct sunlight. This product contains small components and is intended for hobbyists age 14 and older.
