The argument
The old world was a disease, technology was its vector, and the only path forward is harmony with the living earth. They reject the dead tech of the arcologies and the salvage economy of the wastes alike, cultivating gardens in hidden valleys and drawing strength from soil. To the other powers they are an enigma: primitive, stubborn, and fanatically devoted to purification.
Why it works
This is the part outsiders underestimate. The lands the Compact cultivates become Harmonized, and their connection to the living earth actively calms the Cognitive Static. Mechanically these zones reduce the local Anomaly Severity Index. Their spiritual claim produces a measurable defense against the madness of the Wake, which no amount of corporate shielding fully replicates.
How they see you
The Compact keeps a wary arm's-length trade relationship with the Wayfinders and regards the megacorporations as a contagion to be purged from their lands. They are not interested in your reasons.
The case against them
Rigid technophobia and isolationism are a death sentence in a world that demands adaptation. Their refusal to engage with the realities of the Wake makes them a dangerously naive culture, content to perish for their ideals. They would say that perishing intact is the point.
Stillwater warbands bend the ground to their advantage and build defensive strongholds. Their Harmonized zones blunt psy-tech attacks outright, which makes them a nightmare to shift once they have chosen their position.
