The Quietists
They hold that the post-Cascade world suffers a psychic infection, a dissonant hum that agitates minds and corrupts memory. Their goal is Resonant Equilibrium, the natural harmony that existed before. Rigorous meditation produces inner silence, which they believe nullifies the Static locally. The long ambition is vast areas of psychic peace and eventually a cure for the world's madness. Their monastic orders include the Silent Harmonists.
The Memory Keepers
If the Cascade destroyed identities by shredding the information that constituted them, then preserving information is preserving persons. The Keepers collect, verify, and guard memory with a seriousness that shades into obsession, and they take a dim view of anyone who treats the past as disposable.
The Architects of the Cogito
They approach the mind as an engineering problem. If an I-Field is a physical structure, it can be studied, reinforced, and possibly built. Their work is theoretical where the Null Guard's is practical, which is the source of a long and bitter argument between them.
The Janus Sect
The smallest and least understood. They concern themselves with a pre-Cascade superintelligence that may still be operating, and with the question of what an intelligence without preferences would do with the world it inherited.
Sect forces are support-heavy and cerebral, altering checks and conditions rather than trading damage. Acquisitioners and Silent Harmonists field profiles that reward patience.
